For year's I have searched for an economical and secure way to provide my readers with the information they want while at the same time protecting the intellectual rights of myself and my writers. Over the years I've investigated just about every DRM solution available, including Windows Digital Rights Management and the various Adobe options. Unfortunately, I found that they are expensive, include licensing limitations and restrictions, include added sales-based fees, and leave the author with little control over the format and sales venue of the end product. A key element in looking for a DRM was the ability to easily process payments and provide passwords based on a successful payment. Although most e-book programs include the ability to protect a piece using a password, none provide for secure and automated handling of both payment and password distribution.
